Babette B. Bach, Esq. is an Elder Law Advocate and the founder of Bach & Jacobs, P.A., (previously known as Bach Elder Law). Board certified by both the Florida Bar and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (CELA), she is past chair of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar (2009-2010) and has been practicing law for over 25 years.

 



2Fredric C. Jacobs, Esq.

Fred has been an "av" rated attorney since 1976, holds a Masters degree in tax law and is Florida Board Certified in tax law. In addition to practicing law, he teaches estate planning, Federal taxation of estates, trusts and gifts, tax procedure and international taxation as an adjunct law professor at Stetson Law School, St. Petersburg, Florida.

Sean ByrneSean M. Byrne, Esq.

Sean M. Byrne, Esq. is a trusts, estates, and real property attorney who combines an accomplished background in law, government, and media relations with his advocacy for senior citizens. Sean augments Bach & Jacobs’ practice in wills, trusts, estate planning, guardianship, and probate litigation. Sean holds a JD from The American University in Washington, DC, where he graduated cum laude. Sean received a BS in Political Science and Economics from Texas Lutheran University, graduating magna cum laude with honors.

Prior to joining Bach & Jacobs, Sean was the in-house counsel for the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast where he provided options to landowners, high net worth individuals, and their financial advisors seeking to reduce federal income taxes and local property taxes through land conservation and philanthropy. Sean Byrne worked his way through law school at a trusts and estates law firm while attending classes. While a law student, Sean authored an article on estate planning for the elderly that was published by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys following a nationwide competition. His writings about the tax incentives of conservation easements have also been published by the Sarasota County Bar Association’s The Docket.

Sean is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Southwest Florida Estate Planning Counsel, Leadership Sarasota County, the Sarasota County Bar Association and the Young Lawyers Division. He is also a director on several community boards and is a lecturer on topics relating to the tax and financial advantages of land conservation.

Sherri, a Florida Registered Paralegal, has worked in the field of Estate Planning, Probate, Real Estate and Public Benefits. She has been working in the legal community since 2004. Sherri also has a background in Advertising and Management of Fulfillment Operations.
 
Sherri was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts and she was raised in Brockton, Massachusetts. She moved to New Hampshire where she graduated from Profile Jr./Sr. High School and thereafter graduated from Granite State College. After college, Sherri and her husband, a Venice Florida native, moved to Florida for the warm weather and tropical scenery.
 
Sherri loves spending quality time with her family and friends, especially her young son. You can find Sherri enjoying outdoor fun and sports, out on a motorcycle ride, or taking in a good movie.

Loretta Van Zandt, a Florida Registered Paralegal, has extensive experience in Probate and Estate Planning, Trust Administration and Litigation.  She also has worked in Real Estate, Business Law and some Litigation.  Loretta also has more than 20 years experience in customer service and the service of legal process.  She particularly enjoys assisting and getting to know clients.

Loretta is from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She grew up in Havertown, PA and enjoyed all the history associated with Philadelphia.  She moved to Florida in 2005 for the sunshine and has found watching our beautiful sunsets on the Gulf of Mexico is a favourite new pastime.  Loretta loves spending time with her family and travelling.   She has a daughter, son-in-law and two adorable grandchildren.  She enjoys reading, combing flea markets, cooking and creating crafts.

Mary Lynne joined our team in June 2014 and comes to us with 27 years of Probate and Guardianship experience from the Orange County Clerk of Courts. Mary Lynne loves math and she has over 30 years of accounting experience.

Mary Lynne was born in Cherry Hill, NJ and was raised in Orlando, FL.  She graduated from Valencia Community College in Orlando and also attended the University of Central Florida where she studied finance and accounting. She recently retired from the Orange County Clerk of Court and moved to Venice, FL in May of 2014.

Mary Lynne has two daughters and a grandson who live in Orlando.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Mary Lynne enjoys watching all sports, but especially watching college football and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. You can also find her some weekends out on the boat enjoying the water and sunshine or just relaxing at home watching movies.

 

Sharon Booth
 
Sharon is originally from the U.K. where she graduated with a law degree and worked as a legal executive in the field of Civil Litigation. She moved to Florida in 2011 and loves the climate here and the beaches. She very much enjoys the support role she has at Bach & Jacobs as a legal assistant, in particular, the contact she has with clients. In her spare time she likes to watch movies, socialize with friends and go to the gym.
